BMS Incorporation: proposed Memorandum

BMS World Mission is in the process of moving from an Unincorporated to an Incorporated Charity. You can now read our proposed Memorandum and Articles of Association.

Over the last 18 months, BMS has been involved in a consultation process with our constituency regarding BMS World Mission moving from an Unincorporated to an Incorporated Charity. The Board of Trustees, BMS Council and Assembly all gave approval for this in 2016.
 
Over the last year, there has been a public consultation on the draft Memorandum and Articles of Association (M&A). That consultation is now complete and Trustees and Council have agreed the new proposed M&A for decision at the Assembly. This can be read by opening the attachment below.
 
At the AGM in Harrogate on 13 May we will ask Assembly to approve the new M&A, after which we will register with Companies House and the Charity Commission in time for a 1 November 2017 start as the newly incorporated BMS.

Alternatively, there will be an opportunity at the start of the Assembly day in Harrogate to come to the BMS desk where we will have people there ready to answer any questions.
