Transforming lives on four continents

Prophet Stories training event coming to BMS International Mission Centre this June

BMS World Mission is hosting an event that will train Christians in running a course for engaging with their Muslim neighbours.

Mark your calendars for Saturday 24 June 2017 from 10 am to 4 pm! Christians are invited to an event called “Prophet stories” which will be held at the BMS International Mission Centre in Birmingham. Prophet Stories is co-hosted with the Bible Society and is meant to help Christians engage sensitively with Muslim frriends. It’s a unique event that focuses on using pictures and stories to compare and contrast the prophets who appear in both the Bible and Qur’an.

Prophet Stories is a tool which enables groups of everyday Muslim and Christian people to talk about what we understand about God, through the listening and telling of the same prophet stories from the Qur’an and the Bible.

If you attend the seminar you will also receive a book. The book includes session plans, notes on understanding biblical and Qur’anic texts, similarities and differences between the texts, exercises to encourage listening and pictures to help the telling of stories.

The day will be a seminar enabling practitioners to deliver this resource in their setting, including the toolkit to do so. This includes the training, the book and refreshment. It is a ‘bring your own lunch’ event.
Book your tickets today! The day costs £20 and includes training, a copy of the book and refreshments. If you’d like to find out more information about the event, you can contact Jan Pike at info@prophetstories.org.uk and you can find out more about booking by sending an email to imc@bmsworldmission.org
