Transforming lives on four continents

Christmas at IMC

Posted by Claire-Lise and David Judkins at 11:27 on 5th October 2012

It's a bugbear of most people. Christmas coming early, shops full of junk, and beginning (nearly!) to play Carols... Some love it, many hate it!

So, as we are gearing-up to a Christmas celebration here at IMC, is it just that we are giving in to the trend?

Well, as with most things, there is a plan and a purpose. For many of our action team-ers going abroad, this Christmas will be their first away from home.

The tradition is that the Mission Workers put on various Christmas events, including a Santa's grotto, a treasure hunt involving nativity characters (hence a men's evening spent making angel wings!!!), and a "Queen's speech", followed by a special Christmas meal.

It is of course, a lot of fun, but also a great way of showing the action teams that we care for them, demonstrating the reality and joys of life shared in community, and remembering Christ in the everyday!

Merry Christmas everyone...
