Transforming lives on four continents

Philippines appeal: Donate now

Help those whose lives have been devastated by Typhoon Haiyan

Typhoon Haiyan, which hit the Philippines on 7-8 November, is one of the largest storms on record ever to make landfall. The areas worst affected by the typhoon had also suffered earthquake damage in October. Although the country has been relatively well prepared, wood-constructed houses have been ripped apart by the high winds. Typhoon Haiyan has caused massive destruction and loss of life.

BMS is responding through Baptist partners in the Philippines to bring emergency relief to the thousands of people left homeless by Typhoon Haiyan. From all indicators so far there is a critical need for drinking water in the early stages of this disaster. BMS has already responded with a £5,000 grant to provide clean water to those worst affected.

With your donations, BMS plans to provide shelter, more clean water, food and emergency medicine to those worst affected. As the Philippines struggles to recover from one of the worst natural disasters in its history, the recovery process will be lengthy and complex. BMS will continue to provide support for the coming weeks and months. Your generosity will enable BMS to help those whose lives have been devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.
